The stainless steel buffer tank with hydraulic function for heat pumps has a dual function: that of a hydraulic balancing vessel (decoupler) and that of an inert buffer tank. The hydraulic separation serves to make the flow rates of the primary circuit (heat pump) and the secondary circuit (end units) independent of each other. The volume of the buffer tank serves to guarantee a minimum amount of water in the installation for the proper functioning of the heat pump.
The buffer tank is designed for both vertical and horizontal wall mounting and for heating and cooling applications. The buffer tank has various connections so that it can be installed both in series and in parallel. The buffer tank is thermally insulated with a polyphenylene ether insulation layer of at least 45 mm thick.
